update! POSTED AT 11:36 AM May your angpow multiply. Haha. As I write this, I'm also attempting to put to computer screen my jottings from Planning Camp. *Sigh* Have I told you how I hate minutes? The past week. Hmm... Friday, Jan 28 CoUZ, then sleep over. Went to the Curve the next day with the others. Lunchies, then back to Setapak, where I started crashing in Charis House. Too much church CoUZ on friday night, then YA at Metro Tabernacle on Saturday night, and then visited Setapak Gospel Centre on Sunday morning. After the main service, they had a combined youth meeting at TMGC. I was like "woah... 4 services in one weekend... am I nuts?" But it was interesting. SGC was interesting. Haha. Planning Camp Feb 1 -4. Still have minutes. I said I'd get it out yesterday. Argh. early morning craziness! Followed my uncle back from KL to Penang. We left at 5 am, and reached in time for breakfast at 8.30am. Sleepiness. Youth meeting at night. I'm an aunty! If you haven't heard this yet, I have a super-chuntedly cute niece. Wheeee.... hahahhaa. Yeps, me cuzzie Ee Lynn and hubby Michael Ridgers are back for CNY with little kiddo Danielle. *sigh* She's a nice, smiling kid. Gonna be one on the 13th. And so.. that's it. As usual, I have things to say, but I don't know how to say them. And I have that idiotic minutes on my mind. Ergh. So, happy CNY. I'll be updating again soon, I think. Heh. |

Friendship Factor POSTED AT 01:58 PM Visited a youth group, and found myself sitting alone. Something somehow, needs to be done about youth groups. Everyone's so busy in their little jobs, and busy with their little circles, that newcomers are often forgotten. It's still something I need to learn myself. Need to learn to talk to new people or those who sit alone, even if you have to go in twos or threes to do that. You know, to learn to be friendly and inclusive. They said to write down your vision. And I do. I want to write a new book. I want to write a new song. But for now, I want to change my CF. I'm crazy, and I know it. Aren't we all? That little church question has decided to rear its head again. I thought I'd settled it. Ergh. Does that mean that I've been making the wrong choice? |

Had a nice dinner, with nice ice-cream, and then watched The Incredibles (again) at uncle Mike Lyon's with superb surround sound and LCD screen. It's almost like a movie theatre... better, actually. Aaaaahhhh. Central Zone open house at Logan tomorrow. See you there? |

Haven't fireplaced for a long time, and in some weird way, feel as if I'm in some sort of denial. Oh well. Work starts Tuesday! Sigh. book review: ERAGON [Christopher Paolini] POSTED AT 05:54 PM in book review Putting jealousy aside, some things I noted about the book and the author: 1) he obviously let Tolkien influence him too much, using similar sounding names and words, such as Eragon, Arya, Gil'ead, Isidar Mithrim. 2) his concept of dragons and power are rather like those of Ursula Le Guin, with the use of a pure "ancient language" where the user can't lie, and the use of true names to gain power over people and elements. 3) Some parts were kind of predictable, but then again, it could be because it's meant to be a kid's book anyways. For more info, surf on to www.alagaesia.com as I don't feel in the least bit inclined to write a proper review of the book. The most I'll tell you is that it's a good read, and you have to wait for the sequel to come out as its supposed to be the first book of a Trilogy. |
