Crazy amounts of hawker food.

Meat lover's pizza + tabasco sauce + minestrone soup + father brown stories = mmm yum.

Padan muka on Simeon!

He is still missing. Oh dear. And tomorrow's the last day of the search.

And it's another haggai month. Hm.

oh. dear.
POSTED AT 09:36 PM

where are you?
Come back.

I hardly knew you,
But I know what it feels like to lose someone.

I hardly know you,
But I know what it's like to have your faith crash down around you.

I don't know where you are,
Or if you're alive.

But God,
Let there at least be closure.

Come back.

If not for you,
Then for us.
The family. The friends. The Phyw. The faithful.

Regular searches halted for missing Glacier hiker

GREAT FALLS, Mont. — Glacier National Park officials said Tuesday that they would discontinue regular searches for a 27-year-old Kentucky man who went missing during a planned 100-mile hike.

Park Superintendent Charles "Chas" Cartwright said in a statement that he was disappointed that he couldn't explain what happened to Yi-Jien Hwa, a seminary student from Lexington, Ky.

"Reluctantly, after more than 2,500 hours of searching in difficult terrain and challenging conditions, the time has come to acknowledge that we are unlikely to solve this mystery without additional information," Cartwright said.

Hwa was reported missing Aug. 18 when he didn't contact his family as agreed on the last day of his hike. An extensive search turned up few clues about his whereabouts.

But incident commander Patrick Suddath said in the news release that the park hasn't given up hope of finding Hwa.

"We simply had to make the decision that committing the resources at the level we have committed them over the past two weeks could not continue based on the information we had to go on," he said.

Suddath said search efforts would resume if new information becomes available.

Muse
POSTED AT 02:34 PM

If I could put you into words

and define you

I would be able to let you go

Instead, you're this niggling thought

at the back of my mind

Worrying me like an unfruitful Muse.

But if you were solely hindering

I would have quashed you

Much, much sooner

Yet I don't know

What help you are?

And if this is an attempt at free-flow verse, it really sucks. Thanks a lot, Brain.

dinnerz!
POSTED AT 11:41 PM

Dinnerz with KK.

Conversations on: Life. Church. Ministry. Contact lenses. Maturity. Comfort. Plans. Dreams. Would you date a younger guy? Writing. Thoughts. Washing machines and dryers. Floods. College. CF. What does passion fruit taste like? Thinking too much. Male leadership. Work. Youth. Rants. Music. Worship. Words.

Current criteria on the dream boyfriend:

  • serving God
  • similar goals in life (same as above)
  • at least the same age, or not more than 3 years older
  • Mature
  • strong enough to lead me on spiritually. (which probably equals above)
  • responsible

And as always: ABLE TO KILL COCKROACHES! KILL KILL KILL KILL!!!!

I sometimes think that I am too loud and scary to be chased. But toning down my opinions wouldn't make me me. In any fact, I don't give my opinions to any tom, dick and harry.

But Yuin asked me, "what do you want for your birthday?" and the first thing that came to mind was, "a boyfriend."

I think I'm old. Don't sue me.

snippet.

"It's just a phase!" she said. Adamantly. "Stop smirking."

He stayed silent.

"A phase," she repeated.

"Like the last?"

"Well..." Uncertainty in her eyes. "I wish..." she bit her lip and turned away.

"It won't always be this way." A whisper. She pretended not to hear.

"Listen."

But doors were slamming in her mind, feet running, lights... going... dark. And she curled her body around the softness of a pillow, felt the warmth trickling away on the cold night. And sighed.

more dinnerz!
POSTED AT 12:30 AM

Dinnerz with Clare.

Conversations on: work. exercise. dance. doing stuff I don't want to do. Eating. Weight (the more or less of it). New jobs. Salary vs dream job. Evil credit cards. Popular book sale. Abuse. Books! Traffic jams. The need to be alone. Corelation of end-of-exams, spending spree and lack of sleep. KL, and not coming home.

It's interesting, the different ways conversation runs with different people. Even when you knew them from the same place and time.

Thanks Abigail *rolls eyes*. I'll smack you when I see you.

1. tends to multitask.

2. is an online junkie and goes berserk without her daily dose of internet.

3. has more books than her bookshelves can hold.

4. just had 12 hours of sleep

5. is monolingual. Really.

6. thinks that making her bed is a waste of time because she is going to sleep on it again anyway.

7. doesn't think that there are 10 interesting things about her.

8. loves the delete & backspace buttons, especially when writing.

9. uses a lot of words without thinking because words are just words and don't mean anything anymore.

10. super hates cockroaches.

And me not tagging.

Oh, and as an aside, I had a nightmare yesterday. I dreamt I was going back to school, Form 5 or something, and we had this test on the first day, where I totally failed my BM. And Pn Sabariah (who was my BM teacher in Fm 3, don't know why she was "teaching" BM in my Fm5 dream) was so disappointed. And then... we went to our regular classes... and I took out my handphone to call someone, only to realise that I'm not allowed to bring a handphone to school so I had to like stash it somewhere before the prefects saw me. And then... we went into class, and I don't know why the class was made out of like half the ppl in Sc and half the ppl in Arts. I guess I'm just missing both parts of my school friends, from both classes. haha. I dunno.

Stupid dream.

overheard
POSTED AT 02:40 PM

Overheard whilst outside hanging clothes:

Kid: I don't want! No! Don't want. [cry]

Neighbour: Give jie jie the biscuit. If you don't give jie jie, afterwards I give jie jie Anne* next door all the biscuits, then no one has biscuits.

*My neighbour thinks my name is Anne. It's a common misconception, even among my clients.

because i'm overblogging anyway...
POSTED AT 11:47 PM

I thought I'd post up this snippet that I found in one of my old old old old old writings.

"I am who I am, but who am I if I know not myself? Let me hope for hope is akin to life; Let me dream for dreams awaken the life within me; Let me love for love is the very substance of life.” A dreamy and silvery voice broke the silence.

“That I am nobody but myself and none can dictate what decisions I make or what I choose to do with my life today. The Creator-God made man so that Love is the substance of their lives. Without it, they cannot live - they cannot survive. Without it, they must die. It is what makes the world spin, it is what makes me afraid for love is all-encompassing and none can run from it or the need of it,” Maitwé’s voice replied.

Ahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha.

I. die. laughing.

joke of the day
POSTED AT 02:24 PM

On nearing the house after a haircut:

Me: So do you think my hair is nicer?

Dad: It looks shinier. Did you send it for washing?

Me: [laughs]

Dad: The tyres look a bit flat.

>.<

sickness
POSTED AT 09:02 PM

I had a flash fever last night. It came on at about 7 or 8, at the end of dinner. Finished off my work like crazy, took a panadol and slept at 9.30ish. Fine the next morning, except for a bit of a sore throat.

Took Nando's with extra hot peri-peri for lunch, and the sore throat went away.

Who says you have to eat healthy?

not-a-blogpost
POSTED AT 11:37 PM

I can't blog right now, because I have a phrase stuck in my brain, but it's not progressing anywhere.

Yeah.

And it'll be busy a while, heading down to KL on Saturday and then to I-bridge Camp on Wed and back only the following Sunday.

Don't miss me too much.

I hope to be hardworking enough to take lotsalotsalotsa pics. (You wish)
