whoops! POSTED AT 12:52 AM I haven't been blogging. Sorry, life has been catching up, I hope. Churned out another book review here, after so long. Do click on by to the others... Howl's Moving Castle: A Review A review of the book "Howl's Moving Castle" written by Dianna Wynne Jones. Castle in the Air: Book Review House of Many Ways: A Book Review Facebook Should Not Be Banned in the Office - The Pros of Allowing Networking Sites in the Office Yes, so click and make me a happy person. My page views have dropped drastically. I've only earned $0.41. Haha
Okay, so back to what I have been doing since the last post. I don't remember what the last post was. But anyway, I have been reading (hence another book review) and I have been for my third iBridge camp (w00t!) and I have written my post-camp reflection. I have hit the quarter-century mark with nothing much to show for it, I think. I am trying to get back into stride, and I think I will be scheduling life from now on. Whether I follow will be another matter, but I think I need to get things back on track. And that's a lot of I's for one night, and a lot of thinks as well, though I don't think I thunk that much. Heh. It's late. NaNoWriMo is coming. Yay, me. Who wants to be my cheerleader? talk to me!

Titles are something I'm bad at... POSTED AT 05:59 PM So I wanted to write, but I couldn't think of anything. Facebook is a HUGE MAJOR distraction, and I think, if I get round to downloading it, it's the first thing that's going into Temptation Blocker, at least for the month of November. (Can I just block photos, though? It's the main thing I stalk. Well, besides farmville at the moment, and I totally blame Doreen Ong for that.) As usual, I have ideas swimming in my brain, but it's not coming out. At least not in the 15 minutes I have left before I need to go out, AGAIN. (Well, I had 1 hour earlier, but that was taken for fb-ing, and catching up on #NaNoWriMo / #amwriting tweets. :_ I need to structure my life. Anyone wants to help with that? |

disillusionment POSTED AT 01:08 PM in on writing, thoughts And as the song echoes in my head, You think that I don't even mean a single word I say, it's only words and words are all I have to take your heart away, it settles somewhere deep in my psych, asking me, but what do you really have to say? In "A Sci-Fi Writer's Manifesto", Graham Storrs elaborates a very often ignored point:
I would like to be able to answer the question, “What is your book about?” with a statement of its idea rather than with a list of action scenes... Setting myself the task of saying something important isn’t all that hard. There are many things I’ve learned in life, many things I want to say. I feel I have a contribution to make to understanding the human condition. It sounds pompous and arrogant, I know, but there it is. What kind of a person would I be if I had learned nothing? How much of a waste would my life have been if I could contribute nothing? And what is writing for if it is not to communicate ideas? What will I be saying come November? What kind of ideas should I be writing about? What do I really have to say? I really don't know. |

stolen meme off YM's POSTED AT 03:10 PM Can you name 30 people you can think of right off the top of your head? Don't read the questions underneath until you write the names of all 30 people. No cheating!

so she said POSTED AT 11:52 PM So I re-read last year's NaNoWriMo effort (which actually DID reach 50k words) and decided that I liked it after all. So I'm posting it up at fictionpress. It's called "so she said". So it's whimsical and fanciful and you may not like it, or you may think I'm really off-tangent. But I like it, so there. But only the first chapter is up because the uploaded eats my apostrophes. And it's late, and I'm tired, and I thought I wouldn't have to edit it, but I do. So you will have to wait for the rest. It should be up before November. Anyone game for NaNoWriMo this year? You've got another 10 days to plan for it, or you could wing it. I think I'm winging it. |

That's smart! POSTED AT 10:59 PM I do brilliant things all the time. Like telling myself I will work on the script tonight, and then realising after coming home that I should have brought my laptop home because THE SCRIPT IS ON IT. Yay, me. It's a tie for today, with the score at Bee: 1, Worm: 1. And apparently fictionpress is down, or something, so I can't finish uploading the story. 2 more days to November, I can't say I'm hyped. I don't know if I have the time. It seems as if everything is piling on and my attempts to block out time into proper segments has failed dramatically. Well, not dramatically, but still, FAIL! I will definitely have to sit down and write tomorrow. If only the characters weren't eluding me... |
